Chiropractic Adjusting Techniques

Diversified Adjusting

Is the most common form of chiropractic. It is a hands on method where the Doctor will use a high velocity low amplitude force to help restore joint mobility. Patient may or may not hear an audible "crack" sound, which is similar to the sound when you crack your knuckles.

Flexion Distraction

This treatment method is most commonly used for low back problems, whether it is a disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, tight back muscle or sciatica. The chiropractic table will have a piece at the end that uses air compression to flex towards the ground. This motion allows your low back to increase the joint spaces and improves motion.

Soft Tissue

Soft tissue is often overlooked during chiropractic visits. At Head Start Sports & Wellness we will commonly do soft tissue work in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments. Whether it is Active Release which uses a pin and stretch method, or ConnecTX which utilizes a metal instrument to help break up adhesions in the soft tissue.

Rehabilitative Exercises

In the office we carry lots of bands, stability and other rehab equipment. While Chiropractic can assist you in pain relief, Rehab exercises are often prescribed to help speed recovery. Whether it is ankle sprains, rotator cuff, or any other problems, we have the tools and knowledge on how to get you back to living healthy and pain free.

RockTape Treatment

Movement is key to all healing, regardless if you are an elite athlete or someone suffering from a vehicle accident. Sports injury taping integrates innovative mobility and stability strategies, along with a movement-based, practical kinesiology taping framework to deliver RESULTS. This elastic tape is commonly used in ankle sprains, knee injuries, shoulder injuries and many others. Come in and see our display and ask how Rocktape can help you!

Custom Orthotics

At Head Start we use Footmaxx as our orthotic company of choice. Using the latest technology our patients are custom fitted using either our gait analysis Metascan pressure mat or using our 3D foot scanner. Every pair of orthotics is custom made to fit your feet and specific needs. We offer different styles of orthotics, from sports to formal wear. We are even able to make custom sandals for the warm summer months.

Complete Concussion Management

We have partnered with Complete Concussion Management Inc. (CCMI), a Canadian-based, international research and concussion care organization. From initial pre-season baseline testing to concussion treatment and rehabilitation, CCMI practitioners are trained to collaborate with primary care physicians to co-manage concussions and ensure athletes safely Return to Learn, Work and Play.
